Bishop A. Bartoni has extensive litigation experience, trial experience and has successfully defended numerous clients across the United States in cases involving catastrophic injuries from automotive, consumer products, and logistic focused companies.  Bishop focuses on complex litigation, with an emphasis on product liability.

Bishop is familiar with all aspects of preparing a cost effective defense strategy to provide clients with favorable outcomes. He has experience with preparing discovery responses, dispositive motions, preparing and executing fact witness and expert witness depositions, preparing and arguing trial motions, and with trial. Bishop also has experience with resolving matters through alternative dispute resolution.

  • Co-trial counsel for national retailer of consumer products resulting in a defense verdict.
  • Co-defense counsel for distributor of consumer products in a complex product liability claim involving a serious injury, where summary disposition was granted in favor of distributor.
  • Secured very economical and favorable resolution for a national logistics company.

Before joining BSP, Bishop was a Senior Associate Attorney at Clark Hill PLC.  He was a national product liability litigator, defending designers, distributors and retailers of commercial products across the county in State and Federal Courts. He gained experience within the court system by completing an externship for Judge Lawrence P. Zatkoff of the U.S. District Court of the Eastern District of Michigan. He also served as a law clerk for Judge George E. Montgomery and Judge Roland Olzark of the State of Michigan 16th Judicial Circuit Court and for the State of Michigan Attorney General for the Child and Youth Services Division.

Bishop is a graduate of the University of Michigan, where he earned his Bachelor of General Studies. He went on to Michigan State University Detroit College of Law to earn his J.D., magna cum laude. While there, he served as the Managing Editor of Articles for the Michigan State Law Review.
