On August 24, the United Negro College Fund (UNCF) hosted their annual Detroit Walk for Education on Belle Isle. This fundraising event raises money to help support students as they start or continue their college journey. This allows access to higher education to those who are financially struggling.
UNCF’s fundraising efforts have helped educate over 450,000 students, and it is the nation’s largest and most effective minority education organization. Each year, this organization awards more than 10,000 scholarships and provides financial support to 37 historically black colleges and universities. UNCF also serves as a leading advocate for the importance of minority education and community engagement. BSP is proud to be a sponsor of this event.
